The gallery utilizes an assortment of processes & approaches to provide professional artists ways to maintain visibility, present and/or sell work, introduce themselves to art tourism traffic in the district & create exposure to a broader market. We creating amazing exhibitions, conversations and experiences through the gallery & our monthly events. Art practices are a priority in our vision at fooLPRoof contemporary art. Our gallery is one of Denver's top fine art spaces with meticulous curation. The location is situate in the trendy Upper Larimer area North of Broadway in the RiNo Art District. The gallery is surrounded by a chef inspired dining such the Greenwich, Argentos Empanadas, & Dio Mio. Many drinking establishments & multiple new residential projects, 5 hotels & co-working spaces surround the gallery. In the heart of this trend-setting area are many east coast transplants and demographics not matched by other Denver galleries. Our conversations and gallery reach extend to commercial and residential design sectors with a Live with Art - Design with Art approach. We are committed to introducing young collectors to art in a gallery experience while also servicing advanced collector objectives & purchasing needs. We are in the process currently doubling the gallery size while adding beverage service in bar type approach.

Artist applications will be reviewed within two weeks of submission of materials below for the gallery aggregate communal membership
That membership is $60 per mo. with a minimum 6 month commitment. Professional artist applicants may also get in line for solo exhibitions under that application there is a minimum year long commitment prior to a solo show and the monthly fee is an additional $60 per month for a total of $120 per month.
The $60 per month aggregate communal membership includes works on hand being apart of the conversation 365 days a year, ARTSY listing of a minimum of 1 work, inclusion in regular gallery exhibitions if work fits the exhibition, opportunities to respond to upcoming exhibitions beforehand, potential to have 5-10 on hand, no meetings instead a party/events every First Friday, socialization with other artists, mentoring on scaling up public art (if applicable), pricing, curation & presentation of work(s), CV assistance, advertising etc., on website & social media, & coming soon art in a more diverse setting with beverages, rotating art on TV screens. Artists have & should access to the full retail services through the gallery meeting customer’s needs start to finish. Proposal opportunities. Best of all, No Sitting, No printing or advertising costs in relation to exhibiting at the gallery, regular events to invite people to, a place to send clients and have sales processed. Aggregate communal - Commission 20% and 10% if artist sends customer/friend to gallery for completed purchase (+processing fee 3,25% for most platforms.) Public art or outdoor collaborations (sculpture) have customizable commission and/or possible access to an internal project management solutions. Any accepted artist is expected to have a minimum 5-10 works on hand. A member as described above constitutes an at-will guest of the gallery.
The Gallery spaces:
fooLPRoof has an assortment of exhibition areas - As part of the expansion the primary area for artist work will shift to the gallery with beverage service. The new area will include large televisions with rotating images of member artist work(s). The solo exhibition area will either be the front or middle area of the existing gallery. The rear galleries will continue to serve as overflow exhibition space. Visible art racks will remain apart of the art service model giving consumers expanded choices.
The process to be considered for inclusion in the gallery:
Artists together with their $35 application fee prepare a MLA style art CV, images of 5-8 works, a Price List with dimensions and titles, a short 1st person Artist Statement (influences etc.) and 3rd person 1-2 paragraph bio. Email your documents to curator@foolproofcontemporaryart.com - The artist adds their application fee to the cart: https://foolproofcontemporaryart.com/applyhere. Artist or craftspeople please follow this process.
Time Line: Artists are considered on a rolling trial basis Sculptors, Abstract Impressionist, figurative artists & Conceptual artists are prioritized. Contemporary Artists working in all mediums Mixed Media, Painting, New Media and Sculpture are welcomed to apply. The gallery specializes in contemporary art, sculpture and installation art.
CURRENTLY any applying professional artist with process-driven practice or 2d work, over 21, with compatible work will be considered for the gallery, our expansion space and/or museum relationship. The gallery does NOT handle or emphasize traditional representational work.
Art Presentation Sizes & Preferences - The gallery likes works that can be displayed in a grid and sold individually from the series. The gallery likes large 2d works up to 10 feet (and up) tall. Sculpture has a 600 pound limitation that scale is open for discussion if in components. Deep profile canvases and panels preferred. If framed, floaters preferred or cradled panels. Photography and art on paper - preference is towards works mounted on cradleboard panels and spray varnished.
Artists at fooLPRoof have year round exposure with work displayed or made available to gallery on hand. We have shifted into:
Your Application will be under our aggregate communal membership model in which the gallery provides a minimum 6 month term for inclusion in gallery & exhibitions, if work is a fit, and online. The fee is paid monthly $60 per month - first and last upfront. Works selected from accepted artists remain on hand at the gallery and for 60 days post exhibition. Commissions are 20% and 10% when an artist directs a client to the gallery. The latter is a reduced commission 10%. All exhibiting Artists directing clients to the gallery receive a reduced commission on completed sales.
Works selected in conjunction with the aggregate communal membership and on hand shall be exclusive to the gallery during the term. All artists are expected to support the gallery & vetted for their commitment to the success of the gallery.
fooLPRoof gallery aggregate communal membership model is designed to give artists a continual physical presence in the gallery with works available to the general public in a retail gallery environment - rather than one short 2 week exhibition as in many other gallery models.
Solo exhibition opportunities are an an additional $60 per month with a 12 month waiting period. 3-6 months advance planning in the new space, rear front or rear. Works must remain on hand for 60 days post exhibition unless specifically excepted. The artist sits those exhibitions since they occur in a separate area of the gallery with sales handled by the gallery.
Online exhibitions expanded into Artsy as a partner. member artist may have one work on Artsy. Involved image preparation may have a fee and sales processing or packaging may apply as well. Exposure on ARTSY must be with work(s) exclusive as aforesaid to the gallery.
The gallery exhibitions all have Press releases, PR material and ads. The artists are not involved in these tasks other than to promote events advanced by the gallery. Promoting the events & creating a synergy is expected. Solo exhibitions have a postcard and PR expense.
Note: Artists with extensive exhibition histories, teaching art at universities or in museum collections or with exclusive bodies of work should apply to determine if eligible for customizable regional representation. Please advise of this status as we believe you may build value for the gallery. The gallery had a scenario providing these trial exclusive relationships with artists in museum collections & teaching art at Universities. with a higher commission structure than member artists.

OUR DEMOGRAPHIC We are in a walking traffic art centric and tourist region of Denver with 70% of visitors from out of state. It is our mission to expose our visitors to new contemporary works and artists, while similarly exposing the artists to this new and developing sophisticated clientele of urban art and art centric visitors from NY, LA, San Francisco, Chicago. Our neighborhood compares to Tribeca, SoHo - most like areas of Brooklyn and Wynwood Art District in Miami - with loft like apartments and warehouse buildings. We always have affordable original art and encourage the purchase of original art . The gallery is a place to meet new people and welcome newcomers to the neighborhood and Denver. We are expanding into the space next door with a bar in our sights and a small process based museum as well. Focused on the design sector provided services to commercial and residential sectors working with designers and architects as we grow.
